Colombo Magic - City Must' See's

This is a full day personalized tour of Colombo with a knowledgeable guide. We usually visit highlights such as the Gangaramayya Temple, Independence Square, Sri Ponnambalam Vanesar Kovil, Old Parliament building, Old Town Hall, the Pettah bazaar area and the popular Galle Face Green. We’ll stop for lunch at a historic colonial building that is now converted to a lovely enclosed shopping arcade with local cafes.

Stop At: Gangaramaya (Vihara) Buddhist Temple, 61 Sri Jinaratana Road, Colombo Sri Lanka

This 120-year old temple near the scenic Beira Lake is a Buddhist place of worship as well as a learning and vocational training center. The architecture is lavish, with Sri Lankan, Chinese, Thai and Burmese styles represented. Elaborate designs and golden adornments, and the presence of colourful crowds, makes this temple a very popular tourist attraction.

A national monument commemorating the end of colonial rule.

Stone temple to the Hindu God Siva, known for its beautiful carvings, especially the finely crafted granite chains

Stop At: Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct, Hospital Street Galle Fort, Colombo 00001 Sri Lanka

The Dutch Hospital is now a lovely enclosed shopping arcade with cafes. We will take a break here for lunch. We will also have a photostop at the impressive new Town Hall, opposite the Viharamahadevi Park (Victoria Park). It is a white neo-classical building that resembles the Capitol Building in Washington
