Naturalist Guided Tour of Yala National Park

Guided by an experienced naturalist you will venture into the park with a new understanding and insight into the wonders of this eco system. From the diversity of plant life and trees along with its many uses by humans and animals alike, to learning to read the various tracks of animals and interpreting their behaviors and movements, and to getting the best photographic angles and sightings to create an unforgettable wildlife experience.

Itinerary

Day 1: Yala National Park

Stop At: Yala National Park, Yala National Park
Your naturalist guide will meet you in Tissamaharama and take you first for check in at your designated hotel for lunch. After which you will hop on a safari jeep and enter the world famous Yala National Park for your first game drive. The difference with travelling with a seasoned naturalist is that you learn about the park, its ecology all manner of wildlife large and small along with interesting anecdotes, stories and encounters of your guides decades of experience in the wilds. Further your guide being an experienced tracker will work together with the safari driver in tracking the elusive leopard and maximizing on getting you the best sightings possible. After dusk return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Yala National Park

Stop At: Yala National Park, Yala National Park
Early morning head back into the park with a packed breakfast for your morning game drive. Traverse the coastal scrub forests as well as the many natural and man-made water holes where animals tend to gather. Your naturalist who is also a keen birder will showcase to you the many vibrant species of avi fauna found in the park. Keep a look out for the Sloth Bear , known as the Old Man of the Forest and is a rare treat to see in the wild.
Return back to the lodge by around 10.30 AM and relax at leisure until lunch time. After a hearty lunch, head back to the park one more time for your final game drive. The longer you spend in the park the more chances you have in capturing some rare wildlife encounters. Afterwards head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Yala-Tissamaharama

Pass By: Tissamaharama, Tissamaharama, Southern Province
Today after a hearty breakfast you will checkout from your hotel and be dropped at the same pick up point in Tissamaharama to end the tour.
