Stop At: Ella Rock, Ella Main Street NECS-Nature Exploration and Conservation Society Sri Lanka, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka

Your tour will start at 8:00 am from your hotel in Ella. Your tour guide will pick you up and drive you to a high lookout point with prime views of the top natural attractions: Ella Rock and Little Adam’s Peak.

You will then begin your hike downhill, passing by Ravana Falls, with its legend related to the literary epic Ramayana. Your guide will take some time to tell you the story. You will continue your hike; sometimes along wide highways, sometimes along narrow country lanes, and sometimes along barely there footpaths. There will be an amazing view to rest your eyes on as the countryside changes.

At around 10:30 you will pass through some tea plantations. Unlike the the Hill Country tea from Nuwara Eliya and it's surroundings, this Low Country tea has a comparatively milder taste due to the difference in soil type and the milder weather. There will also be a little tea shop you will be stopping by for a fresh hot milk tea to help you deal with your exhaustion.

After hiking through tea and rubber estates, your view will change again as you enter a tropical jungle. There you will see many unique birds, animals, and insects that your guide will help you identify. You will also be stopping at a natural rock pool fed by a crystal clear stream. You can wash yourself or even bathe here, getting rid of the dirt and dust from your long hike. After that you will go towards the exit of the jungle.

Shortly after leaving the jungle you will find yourself in a paddy field. The swaying golden (or brilliant green, depending on the season of your tour) rice crops will accompany you as you have delicious picnic lunch there.

After lunch and some rest, you will continue on your hike towards the Southern coast. A vehicle will pick you up there and drive you back to your hotel in Ella, or optionally to a hotel down South if you have made a booking there. Your tour will come to an end at approximately 3:00 pm.
