Sita Amman temple is the only temple in the entire world dedicated to Sita Amman. It is a place of great significance specially for hindus as it is built around Ashok Van where King Ravana had kept Sita as captive as stated in the Ramayana. The temple is very small but is very vibrant and energetic place. The place also has foot marks of the monkey god Hanuman and was a great experience for us to visit this place which we have only read in books as young kids. The history of this place goes back 5,000 years and one must take time to visit this place if you are in Nuwara Eliya. There is temple staff who explains the history and relevance of the location for those who are not aware it.

Stop At: Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple, Wevandon Hills, Ramboda 20590 Sri Lanka

According to the legend, this is where Hanuman searched for Sita in the jungles above and behind the temple. There is supposed to be a stretch of barren land known as the ‘Chariot Path' on which Ravana took Sita to Ashoka Vatika to showcase the beauty of his kingdom to her. There is also said to be a pond - the ‘Sita Tear Pond' - here, which was formed from Sita's tears. The temple itself is one of the more enterprising establishments devoted to this legend, and contains a granite statue of Lord Hanuman that is said to be over 40 feet tall.It is believed that Lord Hanuman was searching for Sitadevi from these hills of Ramboda. The Ramboda area is believed to be an area where Rama's forces were gathered against Ravana. Ram Padai means Rama's Force. The hills of Ramboda is also believed where Hanuman was searching for Sitadevi.

Ramboda Ella is the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and located by the Pussellawa, the A5 highway( Pussellawa- Nuwara Eliya road). If you are coming from Peradeniya , when you just pass the Ramboda Tunnel, you will came a cross a bridge. The water fall located by it.

Sri Seethai Amman temple is a unique temple it has been made at the place where Seeta Mata spent her days in the prison of Ravana aprox 5000 years ago. It is also unique in a way that it is one of the very few temples dedicated to Seeta.

The temple is located on Nuwara Eliya Kandy road very close to the scenic town of Nuwara Elia (8 Kilometers)
