Sam will make sure you get picked up and dropped off in time, suggest services and activities and ensure you will have a fabulous time with him.
Day 1: Sam will pick you up from the airport and drive you to your pre-arranged accommodation. Time permitting he can pick you up after you settled in to show you some of Colombo's highlights or find you a nice park to mellow out from your journey.
Day 2: Unawatuna Beach and Galle. It is only a few hours drive to Galle where you find a historic World Heritage listed Dutch Fort. It is reasonably touristy for a good reason and is comfortable for you to acclimatise. On the way he can stop at a Sea Turtle Conservation Project where you can release baby turtles on the beach or pet rescued turtles who happily live in the refuge as they would not survive in the wild due to injuries sustained in their life at sea. Sam can also find you a nice sunny beach perhaps, as you prefer as you may still be jetlagged.
Day 3: Nuwara Eliya. This is a reasonably long drive high into the mountains. You will drive through numerous SriLanka towns, see rural areas, huge mountain vistas and maybe stop at a traditional road cafe to see what locals eat and drink en-route to their destinations.
Day 4: Visit the Hellboda Ella Falls and maybe visit the Demodara Nine Arch Bridge which Sam can time so you get to see a train go over it. Very scenic and a good chance to try out you hiking boots for a short walk down a slippery track. End the day with a relaxing dinner in Nuwara Eliya with its great cafes and restaurants and romantic hotels.
Day 5: Drive to Kandy where you can visit the golden-roofed Temple of the
Sacred Tooth which houses
Sri Lankas most important Buddhist relic a
tooth of the Buddha. Before dinner you can see a cultural performance with Sri Lankan dancers and fire breathers before going to your choice of accommodation.
Day 6: Drive back to Colombo.
Day 7: Your last opportunity for seeing tourist locations or buying souvenirs, and Sam will drop you off at the airport in time for your flight.
