After your arrival at the MI.EKO Basecamp, which is located next to one of the biggest lakes in Northern Sweden, you will take a tour around the kennel. The dogs are always very excited to meet new people especially when it means they get to go out on a run!

Your guide Katharina has the answers to all of your questions about sled dogs and will be happy to share stories about the dogs of 8SeasonsHuskies and their daily life in the Arctic Circle. She has been mushing in Swedish Lapland since 2010 and is glad to share her insights with you.

You will then be shown what it takes to prepare a sled for a tour and watch each of the dogs get fitted with their harness. Huskies do not hide their excitement and you will hear very clearly that they are ready to go! Are you feeling ready for this unique adventure?

Itinerary

Katharina and Johanna are running the competitive sled dog kennel 8SeasonsHuskies in the heart of Lapland. You can find around 30 Alaskan Huskies at the kennel, a combination of retired dogs, young dogs and race dogs. Their philosophy is to take care of every dog on an individual level. For Katharina and Johanna it is more than a full-time job – it´s their lifestyle.

Katharina invites you to join her on a run with the 8SeasonsHuskies, sitting comfortably on the sled. Here you will be able to enjoy the power of the sled dogs in the most relaxed way possible whilst being in the perfect position for photography.
