You will be met at the port by a Cruising Excursions representative. Your guided tour will start with a countryside drive (approx. 60km) through a landscape shaped during the latest ice age: rocks of granite and gneiss, lakes, stretches of pine, spruce and birch – a forest where the elk is king. And amidst all of that, here and there, farming land and traditional Swedish wooden houses painted red with white trims.

Upon arrival in Stockholm you will continue with a highlight tour of this fascinating city often referred to as the ‘Venice of the North’. Stockholm enjoys a magnificent natural location. It is built upon 14 islands connected to each other and to the mainland by 57 bridges; a city with Lake Mälaren on the one side, whilst on the other, the Baltic Sea and the Stockholm Archipelago are stretching out far into the distance.

On our highlight tour of Stockholm you will be passing the medieval Old Town, the Royal Palace, the Parliament buildings, the National Museum, the modern City Centre, the Royal Dramatic Theatre, and will be doing a scenic stop where you can view & photograph this ‘Beauty on the Water’.

The tour will also take you to Royal Djurgården, the world’s first ‘National City Park’. Here you will visit the Vasa Museum displaying the famous warship decorated with more than 700 sculptures once in bright colours and gilded. The vasa sank on its maiden voyage in 1628 & spent three centuries at the bottom of the Baltic Sea until she was found & raised. An amazing story and an amazing ship.
