3 Day Safari Tarangire Ngorongoro Crater
• Stop at a Maasai Boma on the way. Here you will be taken into a traditional house and have the Maasai way of life explained. Be welcomed with a traditional song from the women, and join in a jumping competition with the moran warriors. Price: USD$50 for the group.
• Take a short biking tour from Mto wa Mbu with the cultural tourism program. You can ride down to Lake Manyara (on the side not in the national park) with the opportunity to see giraffe, zebra, flamingos and hippos. Bike ride is approximately 2 hours. Price: USD$65 per adult.
• Explore Mto wa Mbu with your guide visit the craft market and find the red bananas that make this town famous. Free of charge.
Day 1:Moshi Tarangire National Park
Pick up from your hotel in Moshi and drive to Tarangire National Park (with a lunchbox on the way). You will arrive there late morning to enjoy a game drive with the opportunity to see large groups of elephants that make this national park famous. Tarangire is home to many of the iconic Baobab trees as well as Amarula trees (whose fruit is one of the favourite sweet treats for the elephants!). As the sun sets you will head to set up camp within the national park. You will be welcomed by your safari chef who will have whipped up a delicious dinner in the middle of the bush. Settle in for a night amongst the wilderness. There are western style bathroom facilities at all public campsites within the national park.
Day 2: Tarangire Mto Wa Mbu - Ngorongoro
Early rise for a full morning game drive in Tarangire National Park. Its a great time to be on a game drive as the animals are waking and becoming active. Following your morning of wildlife watching you will have lunch and then head towards Ngorongoro Conservation area, passing through the lively town of Mto Wa Mbu. There are several options for this afternoon:

Following any of the activities you will continue your drive into Ngorongoro Conservation Area, viewing wildlife along the way before reaching Simba Campsite where you will have a freshly prepared dinner before tucking yourselves in. Ensure to bring some warm clothes as, at high altitude it can get quite cold here!
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Rise early at 6am for breakfast then head to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. Descend into this infamous crater to view some of Tanzanias more rarely seen wildlife including the black rhino. You will have a full-day game drive on the open grassy plains of the crater, stopping for a picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok hippo pools. After your fill of wildlife watching you will then ascend the crater to head back to Moshi (arrive approx.. 5-6pm).
