7 Days Migration River Crossing Safari

This safari will take you to Tarangire National Park, Lake Eyasi and the Serengeti National Park. You will be able to explore the Serengeti in detail as you cover a wider area as opposed to non-migration safaris. The tour is tailored to bring you closer to the heart of the migration itself. The high drama of a river crossing at the Mara River is arguably the highlight of the Wildebeest Migration, a stunning life-and-death display as hundreds of thousands of wildebeest brave the treacherous currents and lurking crocodiles in a last ditch attempt to reach the safety of the Maasai Mara in Kenya.

DAY 1: Arrival

Kibokoland Adventures's driver will pick you up and drive you to the the hotel where you will spend the night.

DAY 2:

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

We leave after  breakfast at your hotel in the morning to Tarangire National Park. After a long game drive we shall have lunch before leaving the park heading to our lodge.

DAY 3:

Tarangire National Park to Central Serengeti

Today we drive to Serengeti National Park. Along the way, we will pass through the rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival we shall witness Africa’s iconic savannah landscape and be amazed by the sheer number of animals that roam these grassy plains. We shall drive to our lodge for an overnight.

DAY 4:

Central Serengeti to North Serengeti

We  drive towards the Kogatende region (Northern Serengeti) after breakfast. You will drive through diverse habitats and sceneries enhancing your experience. Upon arrival at the Kogatende region, we shall go out in search of both the Wildebeest Migration and the famous Big Five.

DAY 5: Full Day North Serengeti

We will start our game drive around the Kogatende area, searching around the kopjes looking for carnivores and the large migration groups that will be preparing to cross the Mara River into Kenya. 

If we are patient and a little lucky, you may even get to witness the death-defying crossing itself where wildebeest and zebras brave the river's currents and crocodiles in an attempt to reach safety on the opposite bank. We drive back to our lodge for an overnight.

DAY 6:

North Serengeti to Central Serengeti

We leave in the morning heading to Central Serengeti. We shall game drive en route catching up with the Serengeti wildlife. Central Serengeti has abundant wildlife to enjoy all year long. We then shall head to our lodge before dusk to enjoy a well-deserved rest.

DAY 7: Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro to Lake Eyasi

We  drive towards Ngorongoro Crater. After 3 hours we shall reach the Crater where we will game drive. Our chances of spotting Rhinos down the crater are much higher. We then shall leave heading to Lake Eyasi for the night.

DAY 8: Lake Eyasi to Arusha

Lake Eyasi is different from all other destinations, we will get to experience the bush life of the Hadzabe and the Datoga people. The hadzabe will demonstrate their hunting skills and dances, while the Datoga are famous Blacksmiths. We will spend time with these people before we leave Lake Eyasi to Arusha
