The Selous Game Reserve, covering 50,000 square kilometres, is amongst the largest protected areas in Africa and is relatively undisturbed by human impact.

It accommodates one of the most significant concentrations of elephant, black rhinoceros, cheetah, giraffe, hippos and crocodile, and Lions amongst many other species. The reserve also has an exceptionally high variety of habitats including Miombo woodlands, open grasslands, riverine forests and swamps, making it a valuable laboratory for on-going ecological and biological processes.

Your day will be filled with exploring the park’s wildlife from your seat on an open-sided or open-roofed vehicle. This adventurous and romantic trip will introduce you to a sunset boat safari along the great Rufiji River comfortable and privileged journey through the wild African bush is a chance of a lifetime! You can expect to see many of the African mammals, including elephant, giraffe, lion, buffalo, zebra and even the rare African wild dog.

Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: Zanzibar - Selous Wildlife Game Reserve

Stop At: Selous Game Reserve, Selous Game Reserve, Lindi Region
At around 07:00am we pick you from hotel lounge, and drive you to Zanzibar airport terminal 2 where you will board and fly to Selous around 09:30AM game Reserve .Upon your arrival in Mtemere Airstrip at 11.30 am, you will be met by the driver guide who will brief you regarding your whole program of the days.

After a short brief you will depart for a game drive in a 4x4 modified safari vehicle in the Selous Game Reserve exploring the game in the surrounding areas, from your seat on an open-sided vehicle, a comfortable and privileged journey through the wild African bush. You may expect to see any of the major African great favorite mammals, including elephant, giraffes, lions, buffalo, zebra and even the rare African Wild Dog.

Picnic lunch shall be provided in the mid-day where by your guide will select a location with shade and water nearby to watch animals coming to drink - a place with a clear view all round so that no predator can creep up hidden.

At 16h00hrs return to the lodge for your scheduled adventurous and romantic sunset boat safari along the great Rufiji River to spotting hippos, crocodiles, birds, and enjoying the spectacular sundown. Dinner and overnight at Selous Kinga Lodge

Day 2: Selous Game Reserve - Zanzibar Islands

Stop At: Zanzibar Island, Zanzibar Island, Zanzibar Archipelago
After early breakfast you check-out, then you will proceed with game drive, until your scheduled flight at 12:50 pm to Zanzibar and upon your arrival transfer to back to your hotel in Zanzibar .
