The Machame Trek begins in the flourishing rain forest of Kilimanjaro with diverse, yet challenging terrain and rich landscapes.

This 6-day - Intermediate route, climbs at an average of 30% more of an incline in the first two days of the trek and is considered the most scenic route on Kilimanjaro - The world's tallest freestanding mountain at a staggering 5,895 m (19340 feet).

Itinerary

The 8-Day Lemosho route is recommended as the starting point as it's relatively remote and therefore provides trekkers with a rather untouched and wild start to your Mount Kilimanjaro adventure. Spotting large wildlife, like antelope, buffalo and even elephant is rare but not impossible. The Lemosho route also provides unparalleled and spectacular views of the dramatic gorges that characterize the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro.
