Mount Meru 4 Days Trek

Mount Meru is considered as a warm-up for those planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. At 4566m (14,980 ft) it very high and challenging in preparing you for its big brother Kilimanjaro. It is located in Arusha national park making the trek from the gate to the next camps in the company of an armed ranger. You will definitely enjoy scenes of wildlife comprising water buffalo, wildebeest, baboons, and monkeys among other animals. There won`t be camping on this trek and all sleeping will be in the huts.

You will be picked up at your hotel in Arusha or Moshi and drive at least 1-2 hours depending on our origin. Once we arrive at the first gate we will take a break and walk around as we finalize all the permit requirements before driving to the next gate where we would assemble and meet the ranger assigned to us and other groups if trekking together.

This is our day one and we will trek to Mariakamba huts where we will rest for the night. The ranger will assign your rooms.

On day two right after breakfast we will begin our trek to Saddle huts our base camp. Once we arrive at Saddle we will take a break for few hours and go hike Little Meru for acclimatization purposes.

At 11PM depending on how we feel it is time for summit preparation and briefing with our guide. Tea and snacks will be served and water bottles filled. We leave for summit at 12 AM and follow our guide.

We should arrive at the summit by sunrise and with clear skies enjoy the view of Mount Kilimanjaro as the sun rises. After a brief stay at the summit we descend down for Saddle hut where we rest and eat lunch before heading to Mariakamba huts to spend the night.

On day four right after breakfast we leave Mariakamba huts for the gate for a brief certificate ceremony and meet our driver to take you  to your hotel.

And that would be the end of our tour.
