And Anglican Cathedral is the oldest Christian Church in East Africa.After abolishment of slave trade the missionaries in 1873 bought the site and started buidling the cathedral

The old dispensary was impressive building a landmark directly on the waterfront.
It was built to celebrate queen victoria's golden jubilee by building this hospital to be used as charitable hospital for the poor.

The Arab Fort is a large building with high, dark brown walls topped by castellated battlements built between 1698 to 1701 by the Busaid group of Oman who had gained control of zanzibar in 1698 following almost two centuries of Portuguese occupation

Its nowadays a garden where people go to refresh mind eating some sea foods,chips,local foods watching people swimming but until 1935 Forodhani was not there.The canon lined the waterfront mizingani meaning by the canon guns.
The harbor was in front of of old fort with dhows from Oman,Persian and India.
In 1935-1936 a new harbor was built and land was reclaimed to make Forodhani.
