Dalyan River Cruise with Sea Turtle Watching

Cruise down the River Dalyan on taxi boats. Look for Caretta Caretta sea turtles and taste some grilled blue crab. See the rock-hewn tombs of the ancient city of Kaunos and take a bath in the mineral mud baths. Sunbathe on famous Iztuzu Beach, a natural habitat of these huge turtles. This is a full-day river trip with lunch included.

This trip is just for you if you love nature, animals and beautiful views. After picking you up from your hotel at 6:30am, head through the Taurus mountains chain to the city of Mugla. Stop along the way for a breakfast in local restaurant, at your own expense.

After arriving at your destination, a water taxi will be waiting for you on the shore where you will head out on a journey of the Dalyan River.  You will have a chance to bathe in healthful mineral mud and thermal pools with medical water. Spread it all over your body, wait for it to dry then wash it off. It is guaranteed that you will have a lot of fun doing this. After burning calories, it will be time for a tasty lunch by the river. The buffet is included in the price, so you may eat as much as you like.

Continue the cruise where you will see the ancient rock-cut Lycian tombs. The trip will stop there so you can take amazing photos. This is a part of the ancient Lycian city of Kaunos. Its acropolis, theater and Roman baths will be visible during the cruise.

Cruising between bulrushes on the delta of Dalyan River is an awesome adventure making your way to the river's mouth where it empties into the sea. This is where you can most often see the huge Caretta Caretta sea turtles.  Meet other residents of Dalyan River, such as the blue crabs, that are food for the turtles. If desired, you will be able to eat a crab that will be grilled especially for you.

At the end of the day you will get off of the boat straight onto the sandy beach of Iztuzu. Swim in the Mediterranean Sea while tanning. The beach is a breeding ground for turtles, so be careful because you may meet them here.  After some free time, board the water taxi and head back to the starting point. A bus will be waiting to take you back to Bodrum.
