Temple of Artemis, also called Artemesium was one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The great temple was built by Croesus, king of Lydia and was rebuilt after being burned by a madman named Herostratus. The Artemesium was famous not only for its great size, over 350 by 180 feet, but also for the magnificent works of art that adorned it.
