3 Day Big Five Photographic Tour - Murchison Falls National Park

The three days’ safari to Murchison falls national park will take you to Uganda’s largest national park, which is a jewel of wildlife and host to the world’s most powerful waterfall. The park is located 305km from Kampala, about 4-5 hours’ drive. You will get a chance to encounter a variety of wildlife like lions, giraffes, leopards, antelopes, hippos and birds not forgetting the southern white rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route. In addition you will enjoy the spectacular waterfall from its top.

Itinerary

Day 1: Rhino tracking at Ziwa

Stop At: Rhino Fund Uganda ( Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary), Gulu Highway Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Nakitoma Uganda
You will stop over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which is 176km from Kampala for the remarkable rhino tracking experience on foot. You might encounter other animals like oribis, Uganda Kobs and a variety of birds. After-tracking rhinos, you will have lunch at the sanctuary and continue to Murchison via Masindi.

Day 2: Game drive and Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

Stop At: Paraa Masindi, Murchison Falls National Park Uganda
Grab a cup of tea by 6:00am and pack your breakfast. The driver guide will pick you up at your lodge for the morning game drive. Animals especially lions are seen mostly in the morning thus the need to be on the road before 7:00am. You will drive through the tracks of the park as you encounter the sprawling wildlife in the northern bank of the park. Among the mammals to look out for are: lions, Cape buffalo, Uganda kob, Jackson’s hartebeest, elephants and Rothschild’s giraffe. Murchison host the biggest number of the Rothschild’s giraffe species in the world.

Stop At: Paraa Masindi, Murchison Falls National Park Uganda
After lunch you go for boat cruise. A boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls is another rewarding experience to view wildlife and birds. Hippos, waterbucks, crocodiles, buffaloes and elephants can be seen along the banks of the Nile. On the way you will visit the top of Murchison Falls.Murchison Falls National Park is bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 45m through a narrow gorge, creating the dramatic Murchison Falls, the centerpiece of the park marking the final event in an 80km stretch of rapids
