A time travel to the geologically most exciting coasts of England awaits you. From the Triassic, through the Jura, to the Cretaceous, you can follow in a unique way the chronology of these geological eras. Here in the footsteps of Mary Anning will show you professional geoscientists, where you can find a variety of fossils. Small fossils or fossils big as a cartwheel.

The Jurassic Coast is one of the most impressive coasts of southern England. Spoiled by the Gulf Stream, the region is known for its mild, warm climate. Immerse yourself in earth and climate stories when our geoscientists will tell you about this cradle of geology. Therefore, we also look at the means by which the cliffs are protected and can experience first-hand why coastal protection is a complex and highly sensitive task that can only be solved jointly by all.

Day 1: Lyme Regis - Jurassic Coast

Stop At: Monmouth Beach, Lyme Regis England
Our starting point is Lyme Regis, the historic center of the fossil living world on the Jurassic Coast. From here we either start our extensive beach walks or take the Jurassic Coast Bus to some of the most exciting outcrops in the region, such as Monmouth Beach, the Undercliffs or collect the ammonites lying around at Charmouth Beach.
