Soar above Monmouthshire in South Wales on a 1-hour sunrise or sunset hot air balloon flight. Meet your pilot and crew at the Village Hall in Llanarth, situated between Abergavenny and Raglan, at about 6am-6:30am for a sunrise flight, or about 6pm for a sunset flight. Exact times will vary according to sunset and sunrise times.

Then, depending on wind conditions, choose to watch or help with the balloon preparation for a launch here, or travel onward to a different, nearby site for balloon preparation and launch.

Either way, listen to a safety briefing from your pilot, and then hop aboard your balloon, which holds a maximum of 16 people. Then, hold tight as you take off and float into the skies above Monmouthshire.

As you fly, look down over the Usk Valley as it winds through the beautiful Brecon Beacons. Listen to your pilot’s commentary as you drift over picturesque countryside, villages, and landmarks, and take photos of the stunning bird’s-eye views stretching toward the Wye Valley.

After about an hour in the air, come in to land, where your return transfers will be waiting for you. Choose to watch or take part in folding or packing the balloon away, and celebrate your flight with a glass of chilled Champagne or beer, or soft drinks.

Lastly, travel back to Llanarth to collect your flight certificate: the perfect keepsake to show off to your friends and family back home.

Please note: the balloon flight takes approximately one hour, but the whole experience lasts 3-4 hours. It’s recommended that you wear clothes suitable for a country walk at the time of year, and if you wish, wear a hat to protect your head from the heat of the balloon burners. In case of bad weather, balloon flights will be cancelled.
