It is the place where King Henry VIII stayed on his way to negotiating with the French king at The Field of the Cloth of Gold. It has has a fascinating recent 20th Century history having been owned by a wealthy aristocrat. After lunch in one of Kent's lovely garden villages, we spend the afternoon visiting Canterbury with its magnificent cathedral and medieval streets. You will hear about the incredible stories attached to this home of the Church of England and will have the opportunity to explore this remarkable town.
