Our town guides are all fully trained and insured - and they are local so you'll learn about their lives here and not just the history and heritage of the area. Find out about the Victorian entrepreneurs who developed the town from its Mesolithic origins. Hear tales of giants, maidens, Clan chieftains and warriors and of RAF officers and crew in World War II.

We can vary the route depending on the weather and your inclination to climb stairs or steep hills! We can tailor our tour to take a different route or to end your tour at Oban distillery or Dunollie Castle. The tour 'stops' include far more than highlighted - we pass by many interesting buildings and businesses and we'll spend some time in both Oban Cathedrals - St John the Divine Episcopal Cathedral and St Columba's Roman Catholic Cathedral. And you'll learn about Oban's third Cathedral of Trees.

Stop At: Oban VisitScotland iCentre, Columba Buildings 3 North Pier, Oban PA34 5QD Scotland

We meet our guests outside (unless we've arranged to collect you from your accommodation) and start our tour on North Pier - one of three piers in Oban. You'll learn about Oban's marine history and heritage and you'll see how the busy bay is protected by the Isle of Kerrera.

Stop At: Oban War & Peace Museum, Oban Times Buildings Corran Esplanade Old Oban Times Building, Oban PA34 5PX Scotland

Housed in the old Oban Times building on the Esplanade this wee museum is worth exploring but we'll tell you stories of Oban's role during World War II as a flying boat base. We usually advise our guests to return at your leisure for a visit.

Episcopal Cathedral with stunning acoustics and a quirky interior.

Pass By: McCaig's Tower, Top of Oban, Oban Scotland

This iconic ruin dominates Oban's sky line. We can guide you up through the steep streets above the town to enjoy stunning views out from the tower's dramatic lancet windows or we can simply point out the tower and tell you all about its history.

Pass By: Oban Distillery Stafford Street, Oban PA34 5NH Scotland

The town grew up around this famous distillery, one of Scotland's smallest and oldest. If you want to a tour we can arrange this but there's no time on the walking tour for a dram!
