Small Group Orkney - OrkneyInga Saga 6 Hour Adventure
This 6-hour OrkneyInga Saga Norse adventure tour provides you with an abundance of Viking Tales, History and Charm. Start your day by departing for Orphir and visiting the Earls Bu where you will find remains of the Round Kirk and the once filled with life and drink the Viking Drinking Hall remains. Here you will hear tales from the Orkneyinga Saga about Sevinn Breastrope and his enemy Young Svein. We will then continue on to Maeshowe a Neolithic Mound which one stormy night was broken into by Earl Harald and his men and graffitied with Viking runes - a tour will be lead by the Historic Environment Scotland team. From here we make our way to the Brough of Birsay, a previous Viking power hold with Viking remains, and Birsay Village where you will explore the small village with a rich Viking history. Finally, we make our way back to Kirkwall to explore the once Viking hub of activity and St Magnus Cathedral the 1137 Viking Cathedral.
