This tour is intended for those who want to take a trip into a bygone era travelling on a steam train; which dates from 1874. The meticulously refurbished train travels at a leisurely pace along the south east coast through the countryside, passing historic towns and villages, with occasional glimpses of the emerald sea.

With your personal guide, you also visit one of the best preserved Norman castles in the UK in the former capital of Castletown. Castle Rushen, once besieged by obert the Bruce and still brooding over the medieval town and played a vital part in the island’s history starting as a fortification, becoming home to the Lords of Derby and subsequently the island’s prison.

After visiting the castle and town, you will be taken for a drive around some of the southern beauty spots. We then head for Cregneish Village at the south of the island where Loaghtan Sheep abound in the surrounding countryside and you might be granted the courtesy of stroking a tailless Manx cat!
