Stop At: Soho, London England

Our tour starts on Charing Cross Road, but mostly takes in the vibrant quarter of Soho. On the tour we visit over 20 locations, including:

'Tin Pan Alley' (Denmark Street) home to music publishing and demo studios for decades, where the Sex Pistols lived and worked, the Rolling Stones and Black Sabbath recorded their first albums, where bands were formed and where a certain Reginald Dwight got his earliest break in the music business.

The site of the Marquee Club, THE club to play from the 1960s to the 1980s: the huge list of artists who performed here includes The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Manfred Mann, The Yardbirds, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Iron Maiden, the Manic Street Preachers... we could go on! And we probably will...

The former skiffle clubs and cafes that gave birth to British Rock 'n' Roll, and where performers such as Cliff Richard, Adam Faith, Tommy Steele, Joe Brown, Screaming Lord Sutch and Ritchie Blackmore were discovered.

The former pub where a young Brian Jones auditioned musicians for his new band, The Rolling Stones, in 1962.

The street in Chinatown where Led Zeppelin had their first rehearsal and where Warren Zevon's 'Werewolves of London' went looking for a dish of beef chow mein in the rain.

'Blink and you'll miss them' recording studios: they may look small on the outside but big hits were recorded inside by everyone from The Beatles, The Kinks, Queen, T-Rex, the Bee Gees, Elton John, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Genesis, Thin Lizzy, Tina Turner, The Smiths and many more.
