On this 3-hour walking tour you will meet some of the talented chefs behind Charleston's growing restaurant scene and gain insight into their ideas, methods, and creativity. The Chefs' Kitchen Tour visits 5 restaurants and introduces you to Charleston chefs who discuss the inspirations for their restaurants and provide a peek into their kitchens. The tour includes award-winning donuts & coffee, delicious biscuits from a celebrated Charleston biscuit maker, and other various bites.

To meet Charleston Chefs, see inside their kitchens, savor some samples, and hear your guide spin tales of Southern sumptuousness, then this is the tour for you!

Stop At: Charleston Visitor Center, 375 Meeting St, Charleston, SC 29403-6238

Chefs' Kitchen Tours start at the Ann Street entrance to the Charleston Visitors Center, located at 375 Meeting Street. From that point head to Glazed Gourmet Doughnuts where the group enjoys coffee and doughnuts. Meet the proprietors of the charming little shop. Proceed to meet the chefs at two restaurants in the Upper King Street area and have an opportunity to ask questions to learn more about their respective restaurants. Continue to Callie's Hot Little Biscuit for a food sample and learn more about the story behind Callie's Biscuits.  Learn how an 8-foot wide alley was transformed into a bustling kitchen. Conclude at Virginia's on King where the group will enjoy a few of the South's classic southern dishes while your guide tells tales relating to Charleston's culinary history.

Your guide will tell stories about Charleston's history, culture and cuisine, and will point out landmarks along your tour route. As these are walking tours, please wear comfortable shoes.

Since most of the time on the tour is spent inside restaurants, the tours are held rain or shine. Plan on most restaurant stops lasting 20-30 minutes, during which time you'll be seated and have an opportunity to use the restroom. Tour cost includes all food samples.
