Food of the Gods Chocolate Immersion Workshop
Learn the difference between commodity grocery store chocolate and small batch craft chocolate. We take you on a journey to taste and learn about this favorite treat. Did you know chocolate comes from a fruit that has no chocolate flavor? Did you know chocolate is healthy and has been used for over 5000 years? Come discover the history, economics and benefits of chocolate while grinding beans and preparing a drink, tasting its rare juice and sampling chocolate from different origins in a guided tasting much like a wine tasting. You will never look at chocolate in the same way. Tours are led by Master Chocolatier Melanie Boudar or one of our qualified Chocolate Baristas.
2 hour workshop on farming, post harvest and history of cacao. Taste the sweet juice of the cacao pulp and follow a beans journey thru the small batch factory process to turn them into chocolate products- drinks, truffles and bars. We grind beans with small hand tools and make a rustic Mayan hot chocolate drink then taste 7 unique world origin craft chocolates.You'll never look at chocolate the same way.
