Greenwich Village is a unique gem of New York that is not only a neighborhood but a campus of New York University. The rich history of Greenwich Village will come alive with descriptions of poets, actors, artists, and architects. The New York University campus that runs through the Village has character and influences that make this area so lovely. Our tour begins at the epicenter of Greenwich Village, Washington Square Park, at one the most iconic of New York landmarks, Washington Square Arch. Highlights of the tour will include Washington Square Arch, MacDougal Alley, Jefferson Market Library, Judson Memorial Church and Tower, New York University buildings, including the Brown building, site of the infamous Triangle Shirt Waist Company fire, and the Second Cemetery of the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue.
