Going on a Discovery Treks Half Dome backpacking & camping guided hiking trip is a once in a life time experience. For three days we’ll guide you on a hike to the famous and most popular location within Yosemite National Park - Half Dome. We will begin the hike in Yosemite Valley before backpacking into the backcountry to our first few nights of camping on our way to Half Dome. The difficulty of this hike increases significantly with your day hike up Half Dome before we return to Yosemite Valley on the final day. *Route Variation - Our specific hiking route and campsites on each departure are dependent upon permit availability. Difficulty of the hike will also vary based on the route change. Additionally, the ascent up Half Dome is very challenging and is weather permitting. Hiking Half Dome is a very popular tour option in Yosemite, tours are subject to permit availability, please book 6+ months in advance, if possible, to allow for best shot at acquiring a permit.

Itinerary

Day 1: Begin Half Dome Hike

Stop At: Yosemite Valley, 9035 Village Dr, Yosemite National Park, CA 95389-9912
We will start our hike in Yosemite Valley and will head to the trailhead specific to the acquired permit.
Duration: 2 hours

Accommodation included: Backcountry overnight camping

Day 2: Reach the Base of Half Dome in Little Yosemite Valley

Stop At: Little Yosemite Valley, Merced River, Yosemite National Park, CA
Hike into Little Yosemite Valley to stay the night before we head up Half Dome
Duration: 1 day

Meals included:

• Lunch
• Dinner
Accommodation included: Backcountry overnight camping

Day 3: Hike up Half Dome and hike back to Yosemite valley to conclude the trip

Stop At: Half Dome, Yosemite National Park, CA
Hike up the cables of Half Dome for spectacular views of Yosemite National Park
Duration: 6 hours
