Historic Surf Town Loop Hop-On Hop-Off from Kahului
This is a great loop to add to your Maui visit! Loop leaves from Kahului Harbor every hour starting at 11:30 am till 4:00 pm Hop aboard the Hula Hula Hopper Trolley and learn a little history as we travel along the historic North Shore. Stops include world famous Kiteboard beach (Kanaha), sugar museum, the groovy old plantation town of Paia, plus two of the best beaches in the area for body boarding, playing in the sand, and catching a sun tan! Hop on and off the trolley at any of the stops along the way. From there you can explore on your own, or book additional excursions.

One of the Premier kiteboarding and windsurfing beaches in the world! Come set up you beach chairs watch the kiteboards launch into the air. Also a great place to swim in a life guarded swim area, spot turtles, get a suntan or hangout under a shady kiawe trees! Kanaha also contains historic WW2 artifacts hidden in throughout the park.

Just outside the Town of Paia you will find Paia Bay. Home of the Paia Youth center and a famous body boarding spot known for its large and regular shore break. You can often watch the Keiki bodyboarding and surf up this spot. This is a great beach to hang out or sunbathe and this Beach is equipped with restrooms, and showers. If you walk down the beach you will pass a nice wooded area and Paias clothing optional beach before arrive Baldwin Beach.

This old plantation town, which became a mecca for surfers, windsurfers and hippies may make you feel like youre stepping back into the 1960s, from dreadlocks to tie dye shops this is a place to see. Paia is also home of the Maui Dharma Center, a gorgeous must see landmark while in Paia town! Hang out with the locals at Charleys Saloon where legend has it you may be able to catch Willie Nelson, or other famous people

Nestled in the Town of Paia is the Maui Darma Center and the Great Lha Bab Peace Stupa. Visitors are encouraged to come view the stupa, step inside to spin the large Mani prayer wheel, view the incredibly beautiful painted murals, and attend a daily prayer or meditation. People come from all over the world to visit this structure; it is a gorgeous must see landmark while in Paia town!

Baldwin showcases views of the gorgeous West Maui Mountains.. is family friendly, equipped with lifeguards, restrooms, and showers to keep you comfortable for hours. If you stroll west a mile down the beach you will end up at Baby Beach a great protected swimming spot. This Beach is a great place to sunbathe, socialize, hang up a hammock, or go for a swim. Keep your eyes out for a turtle swimming next to you!

The Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum is a non profit organization dedicated to preserving and presenting the history and heritage of the sugar industry and the multiethnic plantation life it engendered. The museum contains artifacts, photos, audio/video displays, plus outdoor exhibits of sugar harvesting machinery. Our Plantation Store contains sweet treats, books and other items related to sugar history, all airport ready and most fit into your carry-on luggage!
