Stop At: Kanarraville Slot Canyon, 250 N, Kanarraville, UT

The Kanarra Creek Canyon just outside the Kolob Canyons section of Zion National Park, a 40-minute drive North from St George Utah, is a great little hike for those in quest of a perfectly incredible, multi-hued, twisting and turning slot canyon to hike and to photograph!

Access to Kanarra Creek makes this hike the perfect stop for the amateur looking for professional photo opportunities. There are two exciting “obstacles” (waterfalls to navigate!) within the narrows that may or may not give you a fun challenge!! Both are excellent photo opportunities!! The photographer in you will have plenty of eye candy and memories that won't soon be forgotten!

We'll begin our hike in the town of Kanarraville, which makes the approach relatively short, but be ready for some uphill hiking. The travel up the creek is done in and out of a pristine gentle flowing creek bed and through a narrow canyon with walls of multi-colored sandstone reflecting and glowing with the ever-changing light. All the while you move on accompanied by the musical gurgling of the creek! Just a short distance up the canyon the first 10' high waterfall pops into sight! Further travel upstream we are greeted by the second 10’ waterfall!!

Hiking up the creek for another half-mile, we come to a perfect area for our picnic lunch enhanced by the spectacular surroundings and a good appetite!!
Returning back downstream often provides the best photos as the sunlight filtering through the fluted canyon seems to create translucency in the rock. Breathtaking!!

Be prepared with shoes that are sticky and rugged, or water shoes, and also be sure to have warm clothing for the shaded and cool travel in the narrows depending on the time of the year! Pricing set for two guest minimum but we will accommodate individual travelers with a $50 private tour upgrade invoiced separately tour operator once Tour confirmed.
