We start across the street from the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge. Commercial fishing is the heartbeat of our community! As we walk alongside the canneries and the harbor docks you may meet fisherman mending nets or see cannery workers offloading the boats. You will hear stories of daring Coast Guard rescues, of booms and busts, earthquakes and tsunamis as well as survival and lost at sea as we explore the Kodiak waterfront.
