The Battle of Vertieres (Kreyòl: Batay Vètyè) was a defining campaign in the Haitian Revolution, which took place on November 18, 1803 In Gonaive. It was the decisive battle in which the people of Ginen defeated Napoleons French army which had been sent to the island to re-establish slavery. Aladye a Laso!
