Itinerary

Stop At: Archer Vineyard, 32230 NE Old Parrett Mountain Rd, Newberg, OR 97132-6934

Twenty-six years ago, Don and Grace Archer planted a vineyard on the southern slope of Parrett Mountain. At that time, the Oregon wine industry was still young, a little-known collection of wine enthusiasts making a go of it in the Willamette Valley. Grace had grown up on a vineyard in California and saw the potential for producing wine in Yamhill County.
Don Archer, the namesake of Archer Vineyard, lived with his wife on the property he planted for many years.
In 2005, Saj and Pauline Jivanjee purchased the 8-acre property and brought with them a new vision. With the help of family and close friends, they converted the old Archer barn into a cutting-edge winery and tasting room, and set up a business committed to enriching the local community. Today, Archer Vineyard handcrafts a small production of estate-grown Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, and gathers people around creative events that unlock the pleasures of wine—including music, art, and enjoyment of the natural environment.

Stop At: Bravuro Cellars, 108 S College St, Newberg, OR 97132-3110

When we named our business, we started with a blank slate. Ideally, we wanted one word that described us, our goals, our wines and our
business model. ‘Bravuro’ (pronounced brah- voo -roh) means a display of boldness or daring; great skill and energy in doing something. Our
decision to get into the wine business was bravuro. Our big, bold red wines are bravuro. And bringing hot-climate, small-batch, hand-crafted,
full-bodied and robust, distinctive red wines into the heart of Oregon Pinot Country was bravuro. We also wanted a logo that would
communicate warm/hot-climate, small-batch, hand-crafted, full-bodied and robust, distinctive, ultra-premium red wines. And since our business
model is contrary to all other Oregon wineries' we wanted a logo/label that colored outside the lines. We enlisted the help of the Oregon State
University - College of Business - Graphic Design department to help us design a logo/label. The winning selection was submitted by Dan
Anecito. Our logo, an abstract painting of a matador’s cape in motion, symbolizes the artistry and handmade quality of each batch while
helping visualize the meaning of the word 'Bravuro' through color and shape. The flash of brilliant bold red mimics the motion of the wines it
contains as well, creating a smooth connection between the wine and the meaning of Bravuro.

Adelsheim Vineyard was founded with an optimistic spirit and a lofty dream: to create world-class wines in an undiscovered wine region, the Chehalem Mountains of Oregon's Willamette Valley.

Stop At: Blakeslee Vineyard Estate, 20875 SW Chapman Rd, Sherwood, OR 97140-8607

Formerly known as Quail Hill Vineyard, this highly regarded Estate was purchased by Bill and Sheila Blakeslee in 2005.
Historically, the Estate produced filberts and Christmas trees through the 1970’s and 1980’s. During the late 1990’s the property was converted to Pinot Noir grapes. In 1998, winemaker Patricia Green of Torii Mor Winery was recognized by Wine Spectator for producing Oregon’s first bottle of $100 Pinot Noir using Quail Hill fruit from this site.
The Blakeslee’s acquired the 20-acre Estate with the intention of managing it and selling the fruit. Their first vintage as a winery in 2006 was unintentional, and resulted from a trade with another winery of fruit for bottled wine. Robert Brittan joined the Blakeslee team as winemaker starting with the 2010 vintage. He has over 30 years of experience growing grapes and making wine in Napa Valley for Far Niente, Saint Andrews and Stags’ Leap Winery. In 2015, we hired local winemaker Jim Sanders of Aubichon and Le Cadeau fame to hand craft our wines. Jim learned the art of making wine from Mike Etzel of Beaux Freres while he was studying for his doctorate in psychology.
The Estate Tasting Room’s “Grand Opening” was Memorial Day Weekend 2013. We now welcome visitors to our property daily from 11am to 5pm to share our wine, story and beautiful view.
