Nevada & Vernal Falls Yosemite Day Hike with REI

This Yosemite hiking tour is unique because you'll get the opportunity to hike to both the Vernal and Nevada waterfalls with a professional, wilderness first responder certified REI guide. Not only do you get to experience an iconic trail in Yosemite, but you will also gain knowledge on the history, flora and fauna, and geology of the park from your guide. A trail lunch, water, snacks, guest gift, and use of equipment is included upon request.

Itinerary

Hike the Mist Trail on a guided hike in Yosemite National Park! On this classic Yosemite Valley route, you will visit two iconic waterfalls. The hike starts on the valley floor at Happy Isles and heads up along the dramatic cascades of the Merced River. The trail climbs gradually to a bridge where Vernal Fall first comes into view. We’ll admire the majesty of this 317-foot waterfall and continue on the aptly-named Mist Trail. Climbing a 600-step granite staircase built into the canyon walls, we top out with an up-close view of Vernal Fall from the top. We continue past Emerald Pool to a steeper climb to the top of Nevada Fall, nearly 300 feet taller than Vernal!

We’ll take it all in here, enjoying a trail side picnic lunch prepared by your guide. We return via either the Mist Trail or the iconic (and less crowded) John Muir Trail for dryer conditions and a fresh views of the Merced River.
