Tropical Farms began as a roadside operation in 1987. Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut outlet is great little shop tucked away off the beaten path. Free coffee and macadamia nut samples are always good. Experience of cracking your own macadamia nut from a tree located behind their shop.

Mokolii, also known among locals as Chinamans Hat, view panorama because of its shape, is a popular spot for taking pictures on Oahus windward coast. Mokoliʻi translates from Hawaiian as the little lizard. According to Hawaiian mythology, the island is the remains of a giant lizard's or dragon's tail that were chopped off and tossed into the ocean by the goddess Hiʻiaka.

The Shaka or hang loose gesture started in the Kahuku Sugar Mill! In the early 1900s HAMANA KALILI was a presser in the mill. He would feed the cane through the rollers to get the juice out. And that is how Hamana lost is three fingers-his middle, index and ring fingers. They were crushed in the rollers at the Kahuku Sugar Mill.

One of the most famous surf spots on the North Shore, this beach is also known as the Banzai Pipeline for its barreling waves. During winter, massive swells break on a shallow reef, making it a dangerous beach for only the best and bravest surfers. The pipeline is notorious for huge waves which break in shallow water just above a sharp and cavernous reef, forming large, hollow, thick curls of water that surfers can tube ride.

The visitor must try pineapple ice cream and other related products, plantation country store offering a wide variety of Dole Plantation gifts, local favorites, foods and refreshments including the world-famous Dole Whip.
