This activity is ideal is for those who are staying in Big Sky, West Yellowstone, Mammoth Hot Springs, or Gardiner, MT. Marvel at tranquil beauty and peacefulness of Yellowstone National Park in the winter. Most tourists never see the quieter side of Yellowstone when its locked in grips of winter. We will explore this winter wonderland by snowshoeing through flat open meadows and forested areas of Yellowstone with breath taking mountain views. We will also be on the look out for animals such as: Moose, wolf, fox, pine marten, elk, and more! Hot lunch coffee/ tea included! Snowshoes and poles included!

For those of you who are staying in Big Sky but do not want to ski this is the perfect activity for you! We will pick you up and drop you off just in time as your family/ friends are returning from the ski hill so you all can sit by the fire with hot drinks and talk about the excitement of each others day. You will surely make them jealous of your day of snowshoeing inside Yellowstone!

Itinerary

No Snowshoeing Experience Required!

Your group will be led by a seasoned guide/ naturalist. We will snowshoe through some stunning areas of the park on relatively flat trails through open meadows, geo-thermal areas, forests, and river bottoms while learning about the parks ecology, current wolf populations, and the adaptions that animals must have to survive in this extremely cold environment! We will enjoy the quiet side of winter by taking in the views of snow capped peaks and looking for animals/ tracks such as: Moose, Wolf, Elk, Pine Marten, long tailed weasel, etc. We will snowshoe on multiple trails throughout the day each has its own uniqueness and will be different from the previous trail. We will stop along the way to take a break and enjoy a nice lunch from a local deli.

While other members of your group are skiing the slopes in Big Sky or Bridger Bowl you could be enjoying a private snowshoeing tour inside Yellowstone National Park! We will get you back home to your lodge by mid day just as everyone else is getting back so you are able to share the highlights of your day next to the fire with your family and friends. That way everyone has an adventure!
