The names on the tombs within this historic burial ground are extensive and read as a whos who of colonial Philadelphia. There are 1400 grave markers here. Probably the most famous tomb is that of Benjamin Franklin who rests beside his wife, Deborah and their four-‐‑year-‐‑old son, Francis. Actually Ben Franklin wrote his own epitaph when he was 23 years old.
