This working courthouse in Spanish Moorish architectural style is surrounded by landscaped gardens and lawns. Check out the Spanish and Tunisian tilework, the historical mural room and the clock tower offering a 360-degree view of Santa Barbara. Note: The courthouse is closed on Saturdays which will only allow for viewing of the exterior.

Take a look at a reconstruction of what was the original El Presidio Spanish colony military settlement.

Take a lunch break at the market for a variety of locally & regionally sourced food, wine, and beer.

Visit the "Queen of the Missions", a historic Franciscan mission that features twin bell towers and lovely gardens, like the sunken garden and the rose garden. Admission to the self-guided tour of the interior is included in the tour price.

Take a look at the life and works of the author of the Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling, and The Princess and the Pea. The museum is on the second floor of The Book Loft, an independent bookstore.

Day 2: Santa Ynez Wine Country and Los Olivos -- Epicurean Delights

Stop At: Fess Parker Winery & Vineyard, 6200 Foxen Canyon Road, Los Olivos, CA 93441
Have a wine tasting at the tasting room of this excellent winery created by Fess Parker, an actor who starred in the television series Daniel Boone. The first wine tasting is free; additional wine tastings in this or other locations are not included in the tour price.

Stop At: Old Mission Santa Ines, 1760 Mission Dr, Solvang, CA 93463-2625
Walk around the historic old mission that is still in use. Santa Ines boasts an impressive collection of paintings and statuary. The Archangel Raphael is currently on display and is the only Mission period painting by a native convert. The museum also has 4 bells that are significant to the history of Santa Ines Mission dating back to 1804 and six music manuscripts that have survived over 200 years.
