Before visiting Alcatraz Island, you’ll enjoy an exciting 30-minute seaplane flight begins with a complimentary meet-and-greet at your home or hotel in San Francisco downtown, Fisherman’s Wharf or in Sausalito. We will drive you across the Golden Gate Bridge to go to Sausalito where we will check you in at the seaplane tour company. Experience the thrills of the breathtaking aerial views as you fly over San Francisco skyscrapers, monuments, parks, stadiums, beaches, and over iconic sights like Angel Island, Treasure Island, Oakland Bay Bridge, above Alcatraz Island, the word-famous Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito. You’ll also fly along the Pacific Coast scenic wonders including Crissy Field, Baker Beach and Bonita Lighthouse.

Either before or after your exiting flight over San Francisco, we’ll offer you a private guided custom tour of San Francisco’s top sights and monuments including Chinatown, Little Italy, the Fisherman’s Wharf, Pacific Heights, Presidio, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Golden gated Park, Twin Peaks and much more.

After your private city tour of San Francisco, we will give you a free afternoon to discover Alcatraz Island at your leisure. Following your exciting San Francisco City tour, your guide will take you to the Alcatraz cruise terminal and check you in on the next ferry to Alcatraz Island. Once on the island, you can stay there for as long as you want. Your tour includes Alcatraz’s award-winning self-guided audio tour so you can follow along or choose to discover Alcatraz without the audio tour. After exploring Alcatraz, you will return to Pier 33 for an opportunity to walk around the famous and vibrant Fisherman’s Wharf or return to your hotel on your own. Unfortunately, your tour guide will not be able to accompany you to Alcatraz.

San Francisco Fisherman’s Wharf is located near the Alcatraz cruise terminal and is a very popular tourist destination because of its family-friendly nature. You may want to consider staying at a hotel near Fisherman’s Wharf, which is home to sidewalk seafood vendors, shops with fun San Francisco-themed gifts and souvenirs, boutique stores filled with fashionable clothing and accessories, the Wax Museum, the Hard Rock Café, Cable Cars, Ghirardelli Square, hotels with views looking out on the bay and hundreds of seagulls. Another great activity is riding the cable cars up and down the steep hills or riding San Francisco’s historic trolleys along the Embarcadero which runs along the waterfront.

What happens if bad weather prevents flying? You’ll simply get a refund of the required amount of the per person, this partial refund would be for the portion of the seaplane tickets when canceled for fog or other weather considerations. This flight is seasonal and not available in winter. As for the tour of Alcatraz and San Francisco, there will be in change and will be honored as scheduled.

Tips for Alcatraz visitors
Have something to eat before you embark on the Alcatraz cruise and bring a couple of bottles of water
Leave enough time for the audio tour before the last cruise departs
Take a camera with you with extra memory card storage and batteries
Bring extra layers as it may get windy and cooler on the San Francisco Bay
Wear comfortable walking shoes
Visitors with mobility needs can take advantage of the electric shuttle that runs twice an hour from the dock to the prison building. The tram cannot stop on the hill. Boarding is only allowed at the dock and the cell house on a first come, first served basis. Only those individuals with mobility or physical needs may ride the shuttle. Please note that there are no wheelchairs available for loan on Alcatraz Island. Unfortunately, our SUV tour vehicles are not equipped for wheelchair users.
It is extremely hard for us to get tickets to Alcatraz Island particularly during the peak season from March to October. Because of this, we require that you reserve your tour at least 9 weeks in advance. If you book your tour less than 4-6 weeks prior to your trip to Alcatraz, please contact us so we can assist you. Space is based on availability as we cannot guarantee Alcatraz tickets until they have been delivered to us.
