Itinerary

A morning hike into the Sonoran desert is the best time to spot javelina, road runners, coati, bobcats, and other unique animals before the coming heat of the day.

Along the way, sample delicious wild plants & learn about the medicinal herbs that grow here. You’ll get a copy from my booklet, Southwest Useful Plants, to help you identify & learn even more!

You’ll also learn some important desert survival skills such as the traditional way of making fire by friction, tricks on how to find water, and navigation from just the sun and a stick. I'll show you useful items made from the plants around us- such as hunting items, woven sandals, and more!

You’ll certainly have a lot of fun during this hands-on adventure! This is a great introduction into the Sonoran desert- giving you a new perspective into the unique plants, animals and traditional cultures here in the Southwest.
