Stop At: French Quarter, New Orleans, LA

Here in one of the oldest communities in the United States, I will take you through the 300 year old French Quarter & give you a complete history lesson & show you the historic landmarks such as Jackson Square, Ursuline Convent, Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar, The Cornstalk Hotel, Mulit-Million Dollar Homes, & many more.
Truman Capote once described New Orleans as, "of all secret cities, the most secretive, the most unlike, in reality, what an outsider is permitted to observe." New Orleans' French Quarter may be its most secretive neighborhood. Here, in an area famous for its raucous nightlife and hedonistic abandon, there lives a community in love with the area's timelessness, its beautiful buildings and handcrafted details, its proximity to the river, and its quality as a great, walkable neighborhood of world-class restaurants and vibrant street life.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Garden District, St Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130-5968

I will share with you the history of the Antebellum Mansions from the 1800's in the Garden District. You will see Sandra Bullock, John Goodman, Peyton & Eli Manning, Anne Rice, Nicholas Cage, Jay Z & Beyoncé, American Horror Story, Cornstalk Fence, & The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Homes.
The romance blooms as the afternoon is spent exploring memories of New Orleans’ antebellum past, gazing at secluded mansions, wandering down the brick lined sidewalks. Its canopy of oak trees is world-famous, while its characteristic gardens of hibiscuses, crepe myrtles, and angel trumpets, make it one of New Orleans' most beautiful neighborhoods. The Garden District has worked its magic again.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Lake Lawn Metairie, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124-1031

Named one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the country. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. Oval shape can be traced back to its days as a race track. Became a cemetery after the Civil War in 1872. Final resting place of over 120,000 people & over 10,000 family tombs. We will ride through Metairie Cemetery & see multi-million dollar family tombs of New Orleans most prominent people, (Al Copeland) Popeyes Fried Chicken, (Ruth Fertel) Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, (Tom Benson) New Orleans Saints & Pelicans owner, (Louis Prima) world famous singer, and entertainer, & The Weeping Angel Statue. Other notables include 9 Louisiana governors, 7 mayors of New Orleans, 49 kings of Carnival, and 3 Confederate generals, including P.G.T. Beauregard. We will also go inside a family tomb.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: New Orleans City Park, 1 Palm Dr, New Orleans, LA 70124-4608

Finally, we will go to City Park, as magical and unique as the city of New Orleans. This 1,300-acre outdoor oasis has enchanted New Orleanians since 1854, making it one of the nation’s oldest urban parks & is approximately 50% larger than Central Park in New York City. The crown jewel of City Park is the world’s largest stand of mature southern live oaks, which includes a grand oak that dates back over 800 years. These unique trees are known for their distinctive sculptural shape – some of the oldest trees have limbs that are twice as long as the oak is tall. You will also touch and take Instagram-worthy pictures with this 800-year-old oak tree! You will also see the Swamp from 1718 that New Orleans was built upon.

I do recommend one of the first things you do in New Orleans is TAKE A TOUR! This will acclimate you, help you understand New Orleans, & help you plan your activities here.
