Adventure Description and Trip Itinerary

Day 1 – Suggested Private Trip Itinerary
San Francisco – Gold Country- Overnight in Lake Tahoe

This tour is totally private and not available for public reservation. We depart daily year-round from San Francisco Bay Area, Napa Valley, Sacramento or even from Reno in Nevada.

In the morning, we will leave San Francisco Bay Area around 8am or anytime you may want, as this is a private custom tour for you and your party only. We then head east towards Sacramento, leaving via the Bay Bridge or the Golden Gate Bridge on highway 80, driving to Sacramento, the state capital of California. After some time, your travel guide will schedule a stop for breakfast in an authentic gold mining village in El Dorado County or anywhere in California Gold Country. From there, you will head east to Lake Tahoe, either on highway 80 or 50, depending on weather and road conditions.

Once at Lake Tahoe, your private tour guide will offer many choices; you may go skiing, shopping, enjoy a guided tour around the lake to sightsee Lake Tahoe’s top attractions. This includes the majestic Emerald Bay, Tahoe state parks, state beaches, Cave Rock, Logan Shoals Vista point, Fanny Bridge and the Truckee River in Tahoe City and visit Heavenly Village in South Shore or Squaw Valley Ski Resort and village in the North shore. You will enjoy unique photo stops and the opportunity to try some of Tahoe’s top restaurants with views over the lake.

In the afternoon, we will start heading to the hotel or casino resort of your choice, assist with your checking in process, and ensure you are in good hands. Since we do not work on commission, you have the choice of either booking your own hotel in Lake Tahoe, if you have high expectations for hotel accommodation, or you may simply book our 2-day tour package with 3-star hotel accommodation included. The South Shore is best for those who are looking for more comfort, more venues and Lake Tahoe nightlife. We also recommend reading reviews before you book your hotel accommodation. Expect smoking in the lobby of hotel casinos, but they do offer non-smoking rooms. However, there are many hotels and resorts in both North and South Shore of Lake Tahoe which are 100% non-smoking resorts. The choice is yours, and we are happy to offer you a complimentary pick-up and drop-off at any location in Lake Tahoe.

Day 2 – Suggested Private Tour Itinerary

Lake Tahoe–California Gold Country- San Francisco. What can you expect from this trip on day 2? Your personal tour guide will tailor-make this private trip according to your preferences and to suit your travel needs and expectations.

After your breakfast, your tour guide will meet you in the lobby at any time you may choose, to organize and customize your second and last day on this private tour. Your tour guide will suggest various options. Some activities, such as snowmobile rental, a helicopter air tour, boat charter or a cruise ship tour on the Lake, may require reservations in advance, so ensure you discuss that with your tour guide on day one of your tour. Most other activities, such as skiing or sightseeing, will not necessarily require a prior arrangement or reservation. Your tour guide will be on hand to assist you in this regard.

Regardless of the season, you will always enjoy a scenic drive around Lake Tahoe during your private guided tour. During the breathtaking photo stops along the way you can capture beautiful landscapes, fantastic waterfalls, state parks, majestic alpine vistas and spectacular sights.

In summer and the fall, visitors have the opportunity to sightsee both shores of Lake Tahoe in California and Nevada. Along Lake Tahoe state beaches, you can swim, sign-up for water sports adventures, take a helicopter air tour over Lake Tahoe area, or any other outdoor activities you may choose.

In winter, Lake Tahoe offers endless activities and outdoor adventures including skiing, snowboarding, renting a snowmobile, at one of Tahoe’s top ski resorts like Heavenly, Sierra, Alpine meadows, North Star, or Squaw Valley Ski Resort. You may also take the famous gondola at Heavenly Ski Resort or the Aerial Tram at Squaw Valley, all the way up to the high country and enjoy stunning views of the entire Lake Tahoe area. Take in the sweeping views or play in the snow, take a snowmobile guided adventure, go tubing or sledding with your friends, kids and family, sign up for ski lessons with ski lift tickets and ski rental equipment, and much more.

You can also spend some time shopping at the local charming boutique stores, or at one of the largest shopping outlets in Northern California. Couples may enjoy a romantic getaway and go wine tasting, hit the slots or tables at the famous South Lake Tahoe Casinos, or take a romantic cruise ship dinner on Lake Tahoe anytime of the year.
