Two Day Freediving Course with Boat Charters

Freediving is a rapidly growing sport worldwide. Honolulu Scuba Company is unique on Oahu in that it has a professional free dive instructor, Derek Broussard, committed to providing free dive training to island visitors. While all of the Hawaiian Islands have small but skilled free diving communities, it is rare indeed that this community is opened to island visitors. During you two day course you will spend time learning about the sport and free diving equipment, practicing your apnea skills, and venturing into the open ocean on two different chartered boat excursions. You will almost certainly encounter a green sea turtle, and it is not uncommon to learn to hold your breath of over 3 minutes and achieve depths exceeding 40ft. In this introductory course you are limited to 66ft, and while it sounds remarkable, fit younger people with no prior free diving formal training do achieve this goal on a regular basis. Regardless, you will come away with an appreciation for the sport.

Day 1 will start with an overview of the eLearning you completed then a trip to Magic Island Lagoon for some shallow water training. Day one finishes with a boat charter to depth of about 40ft. Full day. Day 2 will be a deep water charter where you'll get to test your new skills at deeper sites with underwater wrecks. Day 2 finishes with your certification as a Level I SSI Freediver. Half day.
