Amelia Earhart Lookout is a beautiful lookout near Diamond Head State Monument and overlooking the clear blue water where Amelia Earhart gained reputation as the first person to solo flight from Hawaii to North America. The view overlooks the surfers who hit the waves at one of Oahu's most legendary surf spots.

Stop At: KCC Cactus Garden, 4303 Diamond Head Rd Kapi'olani Community College, Honolulu, Oahu, HI 96816-4421

Moriso Teraoka designed and created a cactus and succulent garden. In 1988, retiree and former member of the 100th Infantry Battalion/442nd RCT sought and received permission to landscape a small portion of unused space at the Kapiolani Community College with the intention of planting and cultivating a cactus and succulent garden. The garden is a famous tourist spot and botanical site, attracting many thousands of visitors since its creation. The cactus garden won the Outdoor Circle Beautification Award in 1990 and 1998.

Visit this incredible private nature reserve that has been the scene for a multitude of Hollywood movies and television shows. Kualoa is a 4000-acre private working cattle ranch. One of Oahu’s Historic Places, Kualoa Ranch is one of the most popular of Oahu outdoor playground at the stretch of the Koolau mountains facing the beautiful Kaneohe Bay. The Shaka or “hang loose” gesture started in the Kahuku Sugar Mill! In the early 1900’s HAMANA KALILI was a presser in the mill. He would feed the cane through the rollers to get the juice out. And that is how Hamana lost is three fingers-his middle, index and ring fingers. They were crushed in the rollers at the Kahuku Sugar Mill.

One of the most famous surf spots on the North Shore, this beach is also known as the “Banzai Pipeline” for its barreling waves. During winter, massive swells break on shallow reef, making it a dangerous beach for only the best and bravest surfers. Pipeline is notorious for huge waves which break in shallow water just above a sharp and cavernous reef, forming large, hollow, thick curls of water that surfers can tube ride.

Waialua Estate, on the North Shore of Oahu, farms 155 acres of Arabica Typica Coffee in this rich volcanic soil, and warm sub-tropical climate. Bordered by the steep, dramatic Waianae and Ko’olau mountains and tempered by the rolling Pacific surf, the coffee is as lush as its island surroundings. The trees are grown in hedgerows to facilitate mechanical harvesting. Rainfall is supplemented with regular drip irrigation. The harvest season begins in September and continues through February.
