Weaving Demo

Dahlia Popovits has been a professional designer and hand weaver for over 40 years, and is happy to teach a how to weave session, and to help the new weaver understand the technical and design choices available through weaving. Absolutely no previous experience is necessary. The space which is used to learn is in my gallery of hand made clothing and accessories, which is attached to my working studio. Our location is in the center of the Sowa Art and Design District, the home to numerous high end galleries and artists studios.

Itinerary

Try your hand at weaving and design a custom piece of fabric. Using the looms at our studio, have fun weaving a fabric of your own design utilizing colors and textures of luscious designer yarns from our own studio production. Each participant is allowed a 2 hour time slot to explore this medium and is then able to take their exploration home with them.

Each student will experience weaving with the support of Dahlia, herself, on an individual loom which has been set up for her/his individual use. No previous experience is necessary. Maximum 5 students
