Experience Tram Chim national park and stay in authentic homestay

Leave Ho Chi Minh City from the early morning head to Tram Chim national park 155 km - 3.5 hours away, you will have chance to enjoy the wetlands peaceful life of Mekong delta and learn more about the rare birds in this reserve. During the two days, you will discover Tram Chim national park - a large sanctuary for birds, was recognized as the fourth Ramsar site in Vietnam and the 2,000th in the world. Engage in conversation with local residents and get to know their Mekong Delta culture values and lifestyle are the highlights of this trip: Fish your own dinner, prepare and cook a local meal with the host, visit a traditional handicraft workshop, listen to Don Ca Tai Tu and enjoy some very delicious local food and specialties.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Tram Chim Rustic homestay (L/D)

Leave Ho Chi Minh City from the early morning head to Tram Chim national park 155km - 3.5 hours away, you will have chance to enjoy the wetlands peaceful life of Mekong delta and learn more about the rare birds in this reserve. When arrive Tram Chim town, you will be picked up and taken to the local homestay or hotel to check in before having lunch right beside Tram Chim National park.

In the afternoon, you can either cycle or visit another local house by electric car. Here,  you can row and fish on a lotus field, engage in conversation with the host and enjoy local products made out of lotus such as milk, lotus seeds soup (chè sen) On the way back to the town,  we will stop at a local traditional handicraft workshop and learn to make water hyacinth products

In the late afternoon, you can prepare and cook a local meal with the host family. After having dinner, let’s spend some time to listen to Don Ca Tai Tu which is recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by Unesco.

Spend a night staying in the local house will be a memorable experience of your entire trip.

 

Day 2: Tram Chim Rustic homestay - Ho Chi Minh City (B/-)

After breakfast, you will embark on a solar powered boat to visit Tram Chim national park – one of four Ramsars in Vietnam (an international treaty for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands) where you will be introduced range of animals, birds and plants in the Southern Vietnam and few birds amongst 200 types of birds housing here which make up ¼ the bird population in Vietnam. Some of these birds have been put in the Red Book for a long time. The most typical and well-known one is the red-headed crane, one of the last 15 crane pieces in the world. Normally, a crane has a height of more than 1.7 m, gray feathers, long neck, red head and wide wings. After that you continue on a self-rowing boat where you can experience the eco-system and then walking through the trails inside the reserve

After being back to Tram Chim Rustic home-stay, you can take a short rest and check-out at about 11:30 before being transferred back to Ho Chi Minh City.

End of the tour at 16:00 in Ho Chi Minh City.
