My Lai Massacre- The Truth Story from Da Nang or Hoi An

We provide full day experience to a historical place, My Lai. We pick you up around 8am at your hotel, moving to Quang Ngai province. On the way to My Lai, there are fews coffee shops and we will stop to enjoy real Vietnamese coffee at a local Café. Our destination is My Lai village, Tinh Khe commune; where The US army massacre over 500 victims, most are women, children and older people in 1968. Our guide take you go around the Museum and the garden and tell you the truth story of history and explain every questions and share his knowledge of the important events over 50 years ago.

Today, My Lai has become a documentary center for the event, named Son My area. Next to the old village are two new buildings: a school and a cultural center, built and funded by a former soldier of the Vietnam War. Then, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with local Vietnamese cuisine. We are back Da Nang or Hoi An at around 16:00.

My Lai massacre or Son My massacre was a war crimes committed by the US Army during the Vietnam War. In English document, this massacre is named My Lai Massacre, Son My Massacre or Pinkville, in which Pinkville is the name of the US military place name for My Lai area.

On March 16, 1968 in the area of ​​My Lai village, in Son Tinh district, Quang Ngai province, units of US Army soldiers massacred lots of people without weapons, most of them are women and children.

This catastrophic event shocked the American, Vietnamese, and world public opinion, warmed up the anti-war movement and was one of the reasons for the withdrawal of US troops from Vietnam in the year 1972.
