It offers a cool respite courtesy of its tall trees and it connects Reunification Palace with Notre Dame Cathedral. A hub of activity and a popular gathering place for locals, 30-4 Park is a splendid place to people watch.
30-4 Park is named after Vietnam's Liberation Day, 30th of April. It is beautifully located between the Reunification Palace and Notre Dame Cathedral in the center of Saigon. Thus, 30-4 park is a popular place for people to chat with friends or to grab some shade and sip a drink. Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon
Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon (French: Basilique-Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Saigon), officially Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception (French: Basilique-Cathédrale Notre-Dame de l'Immaculée Conception) is a cathedral located in the downtown of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Established by French colonists who initially named it Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Saïgon, the cathedral was constructed between 1863 and 1880. It has two bell towers, reaching a height of 58 meters (190 feet).
All the original building materials were imported from France. Tiles have been carved with the words Guichard Carvin, Marseille St André France (perhaps stating the locality where the tiles were produced). Some tiles are carved with the words Wang-Tai Saigon. Many tiles have since been made in Ho Chi Minh City to replace the tiles that were damaged by the war. There are 56 glass squares supplied by the Lorin firm of Chartres province in France. The cathedral foundation was designed to bear ten times the weight of the cathedral.

Located next door to Notre Dame Cathedral, the two cultural sites can be visited together and offers visitors a chance to imagine life in Vietnam during the times of the Indochinese Empire. The building was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and features arched windows and wooden shutters, just as it would have in its heyday in the late 19th Century.

The Municipal Theatre, otherwise known as the Saigon Opera House, sits in Lam Son Square at start of Le Loi Street. Le Loi is the popular shopping street that runs from the park across the road through to Ben Thanh market. It is adjacent to the classical Continental Hotel and is close to other impressive architectural beauties like the new Union Square shopping plaza, The Rex Hotel and Saigon City Hall. Its proximity to other popular sites make it a logical stop on any walking tour around Ho Chi Minh City.
