Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi - night train to Lao Cai - Bac Ha
Pass By: Orient Express Train Hanoi Sapa, Hanoi 100000 Vietnam
Depart on a northbound train for Lao Cai which is home to the well-known town of Sapa. Covering a distance of roughly 300km, this train ride is very popular with foreign visitors who decide to give railway travel in Vietnam a shot. It is an overnight leg and you will arrive at Lao Cai Train Station early in the morning of the next day.

Upon arrival, embark on a drive to Bac Ha a small and quiet village located a hundred kilometers to the northeast of Lao Cai.

Hike through the villages rice terraces and streams and visit little far-fetched villages of Thai Rang Pho and La Lo home to the Tay and Black Hmong.
End of the day, settling in a family of the Tay ethnic group.

Day 2: Bac Ha Sapa

Pay a visit to the weekly market attended by local minorities around Bac Ha. The location of the market is rotated during the week, Tuesday at Coc Ly, Wednesday at Sin Cheng, Saturday at Can Cau, Sunday at Muong Khuong or Bac Ha.
Observe how each ethnic trade and the commodities they bring to the market. Visit the livestock market where people buy and sell oxen, horses, dogs and cats.

Stop At: Ta Phin Village, Ta Phin, Sapa Vietnam
Afternoon, transfer to Sapa the former French holiday resort, home to Hmong, Dzao and Dzay ethnic minority.
Trek to Ma Tra village of black Hmong. Unlike other hamlets of Hmong scattered on the hills, it's located in a small valley. Women, girls and children often gather in the center of Ma Tra to embroider, chat or play. Artichokes are grown in the area.
Continue to Ta Phin village of red Dzao, famous for their medicinal herbs. Overnight at the hotel in Sapa.

Day 3: Sapa Lao Cai Hanoi
Stop At: Ta Van Village, Sapa 330000 Vietnam
In the morning, trek through beautiful landscapes along the valley of Muong Hoa Valley which is located to the southwest of Sapa, at the foot of Mountain Fanxipan.
Drop by the villages populated by the local ethnics Black Hmongs Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai and Days Ta Van to observe them in labor and in daily life.

Return to Lao Cai in the afternoon.
