Trang An and Hoa Lu

Trang An Eco-Tourism Complex, located at about 100 kilometres away from Hanoi, is a world’s heritage that receives thousands of visits every year for its wonderful caves and grotto system.

Embark on a hand-rowed sampan boat, meander down the peaceful river and take perfect photographs of limestone hills jutting out from the green rice paddies. After lunch, continue to Hoa Lu, the imperial capital of many dynasties in history and explore this ancient kingdom with thousand-year-old buildings covered in moss. Get back to Hanoi in the late afternoon.

Travel outside town to Trang An Grottoes, southwest of Hoa Lu ancient capital inside Trang An Eco Tourism Complex. The area composes of limestone ranges, valleys, caves and rivers. Trang An Grottoes also hosts Vuc Vong Temple and the Khong residence. Embark on a hand-rowed sampan, and begin your journey along foliage waterways. Continue to Hoa Lu, the birthplace of the Vietnamese nation. Today only foundations of the original palace remain, but we can still recognize two temples, Dinh Tien Hoan Temple and Le Dai Hanh Temple. These temples are sights to behold, with traditional courtyards and lily ponds, set among scenic rice paddies and karst formations.
